Dottie's Doorstep

Thanks for dropping by! My name is Dottie-Lynn and I live in Ontario, Canada. My husband and I have just retired to a small rural community that is very relaxing and friendly. For many years I was employed as a Fire Department Dispatcher, which is a very stressful job, so I now find the peace and quiet of country life very appealing. It is wonderful to be away from "Big City Life".

I have had many health problems in my life, but I feel that they have helped to make me a stronger person. I know that God is always with me. He gives me comfort, peace and hope. I am a survivor and I hope that my story will encourage you.

I am a Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor. I was struck by lightning while driving my car in June of 1974.

I was once morbidly obese at 340 pounds. I finally took control and have lost 180 pounds and gone from Fat 2 Fit!  I had tried every diet in the book to lose the excess weight.  I finally had to take control of my life and get serious about getting healthy as I am a diabetic, have fibromyalgia and arthritis. 

When I was 10 years old I had to learn to walk again as the result of tobogganing accident and shattered my pelvis.
